Initially, the map shows a zoomed out view of Europe. You can 'left click' and drag the map around, zoom in or out using the scale bar on the left hand side of the maps or change the terrain view using the buttons at the top right of the map - (You can have a try using the map on the left!) Every laboratory which has submitted isolates as part of the EARSS network is represented on the map by a "placemark" |
|---|
----------------------------------
The colour of the placemark denotes
the percentage of the total number of isolates submitted from the
country reported from that particular laboratory - For the purposes
of the initial SRL-Maps project all should therefore be
the same colour. |

When clicking on a laboratory placemark, an 'info window' opens showing the "laboratory code", the number of isolates sent in from that laboratory and a link inviting you to 'click to view spa Types'. |

| Data Loading... | After clicking the 'Click to view spa Types'
link a data loading icon appears on the right of the screen indicating
that the ST data is loading. |

When the data have loaded for
the laboratory you chose you will be presented with a table as
above.
The first column indicates the number of isolates of the spa Type which is shown in the second column. (Clicking on the spa Type allows you to see The spa Server Website an an indication of MLST Sequence types found within this spa type) The repeat pattern of the spa type is then shown. The penultimate column in the table indicates whether that spa Type has been found in any other laborotories (the first number) followed in brackets by the number of isolates of that spa Type in the other laboratories within your country. The final column contains a link which allows you to view the Country-wide distribution of the spa Type. Click the link to view the other laboratories highlighted on the map. | ||||||||||||||||
----------------------------------
| When viewing the Country wide distribution
of a particular Spa Type, each laboratory where an isolate has
been submitted to this study
will have a placemark like that to the left.
the blue ICON ( The number within the placemark indicates the number of isolates with that Spa Type submitted from that laboratory. The colour of the remaining placemarks indicates the MRSA/MSSA status of isolates from that Laboratory as follows -

After the data has
loaded you will also see a series of graphs similar to those on
the left This shows the overall summary for all laboratories within the country for ther Spa Type chosen. The total number of isolates is given so that
the graphs can be put into context. |
